I like my idea for the project. I am however a bit worried about my ability to actually create and execute this app. I am feeling sort of insecure about my coding skills as I haven't had a lot of time dedicated to the assignments so far, but I do have a genuine interest in what we're doing so I am hoping to learn more skills and improve upon the ones I already have while working on this project!

Planning your app
1. Who will use your app? (Who is your app's target user?)
The app's target users will be people who know or want to learn how to crochet.
2. What need or problem will your app solve? How do you know this is really a need for your target user? How does the target user currently deal with the problem?
My app will essentially provide a registry of common crochet techniques. I have this problem where I take long breaks between projects that I forget how to make things like magic circles. So I want to create a registry of fundamentals that include websites or videos that I think explain the techniques pretty well. Currently the target users are probably just Googling the techniques which does return answers but there so many resources and it can be quite overwhelming. So this will be a one-stop for the 'best' resources for users to access.
3. How will your app's design meet the need you have identified?
I will try to return video links as well as written instructions so that it can help both visually and in written format. I will import the written instructions from a collection of websites, depending on which provides a better one. Videos are quite easy for selection, I will include links for those with subtitles and are short in length so the users can quickly get their answers isntead of having to skip videos etc.
4. How could your app possibly cause harm? (For example, could someone get hurt if data leaked or if someone used the app inappropriately?) What steps will you take to ensure that nobody is harmed by your app?
I don't think there is an extreme theat/harm for users with this app as it's for indiividual use and it's for crochet techniques. These are things that are universally available, passed down for decades so they are not under copyrights either. I will make sure to include techniques only from non-paywalled websites to respect people's businesses that rely on the sales of crochet patterns.
