If the work is shared and created with other people, if the work is not my own individual work, docstrings could be useful for effective communication. If all the team members has the decent computer programming skills, the codes themselves should be enough information for them to understand each others' work and inputs, but if some people are more advanced than others, and some are still learning, then docstrings could be very useful to have, it might not be the most effective or efficient ways to communicate among coders, but it might be much easier to start off a conversation.
